Mr. William Grady Rowe Jr. “Coach Rowe”, 57, of Eclectic, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015. He was born August 25, 1957.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Good Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Hill and Tom Coram officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery with full military honors, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.
He is survived by wife, Gloria Rowe; children, William Grady Rowe III and Thomas Luke Rowe; sisters, Anna Applin (Robert) and Letricia Calloway. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Grady Rowe Sr. and Mary Ann Wood Rowe.
Mr. Rowe served in the 20th Special Forces Group of the Alabama National Guard and retired as Lt. Col. He served his entire teaching career at Elmore County High School where he was a math teacher, athletic director and coach in various sports over the course of more than 20 years. Coach Rowe played football at ECHS and was elected All American in 1975. He went on to play college football at Marion Military Institute and Jacksonville State University.
