William Galloway

Mr. William E. “Bill” Galloway died Monday, December 17, 2012 of lung cancer. Bill was born July 28, 1942 in Tallassee, Alabama.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Becky; daughter, Jan Galloway of Huntsville; nephew, Brian Galloway; sister-in-law, Irma Galloway, both of Tulsa, OK; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Martha Lambert; niece, Emily (Dustin) Messer; and great nephew, Levi, all of Tallassee, AL. While crossing the rainbow bridge on his way to Heaven, Bill was joined by several beloved pets. In Heaven, Bill was reunited with his parents, Virgil and Lois Galloway and brother, Bruce Galloway, and parents-in-law, Ida Mae and Sumpter Lambert.

Bill was a long time employee of NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, retiring in January, 2000. After retirement from NASA, Bill was a bus driver/tour guide for the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, a door greeter at Sam’s Club, and a bus driver for the city of Huntsville. Bill was a member of The Rock Family Worship Center.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 20 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, Huntsville. The funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel with Pastor Rusty Nelson officiating. Graveside service will be at 4:00 pm at Friendship Cemetery in Tallassee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society or The Rock Family Worship Center.
