William Clayton

Mr. William Preston Clayton, age 74 , a resident of Tallassee, passed away August 27, 2012. He was born February 19, 1938.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm, at East Tallassee Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Webb officiating. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.

He is survived by daughters, Kristi (Doug) Russell and Mandi (Todd) Blocker; grandchildren, Jacob (Mallory) Thornton, Adam Thornton, Chaney Thornton, Ivri Russell, Chesney Russell, Will Blocker and Andrew Blocker; great-grandson, Rowen Thornton; sisters, Brenda (Leon) Moore and Vickie (Mike) Nabors; brother-in-law and childhood friend, Alvin Harris; and a host of wonderful nieces and nephews, co-workers and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Preston Clayton; wife, Judy Clayton and sister, Sandra Harris.

Mr. Clayton retired from Mount Vernon Mills after 47 years of service. He proudly served our country in Desert Storm and was retired from the Alabama National Guard.
