Mr. Walter Thomas Scott, age 62, a resident of Tallassee, passed away January 22, 2012. He was born October 2, 1949 in Langdale, Alabama.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.

He is survived by his wife, Frankie Scott; children, Amanda Jankay (Chris) and Walter Scott II (Alishia); father and stepmother, Lamar and Katie Scott; brothers, Glen Scott (Jackie) and Steven Scott (Ginny); sisters, Diane Sutcliffe and Beverly Evans; grandson, Christopher Jankay; nephews, Clay Scott and Cody Sutcliffe; nieces, Rachel Johnson (Josh), April Flowers and Valdaree VanDoren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Maggie Scott.

Walter served in the U. S. Army in the 585th Engineering Squad, during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Lions International, where he served the Opelika community.
