Mrs. Vickie Lancaster Carrigan, 61, of Titus, passed away July 24, 2016. She was born October 4, 1954.
At the age of nine her sister, Judy, gave her a guitar for Christmas: Vickie discovered her musical talent and there was no turning back. She was first chair trumpet in the Lee High School Band and in the Troy University Sound of the South Band. She received a BS Degree in Music and went on to master most musical instruments, wrote music, recorded music, and worked for the recording studio, Muscle Shoals Sound, as a sound engineer. You can still see her credits today on the record albums of numerous famous artists and hear many commercial jingles that she wrote, played the instruments, produced and sold. She married Music Hall of Fame drummer, Jerry Carrigan.
Her friends and family will remember her sweet, loving nature. She retained a child-like spirit all her life, enchanting every child around her, and always had a toy on hand to make each child smile.
She is survived by her spouse, Jerry Carrigan; mother, Elizabeth Lancaster; sisters, Judy Slover and Barbara Lancaster and nephew, Eric Slover (Kelly). She now rests in the loving arms of her father whom she adored all her life.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27 from 1 to 3 PM at Linville Memorial Funeral Home, followed by memorial service at 3 o'clock.
