Mr. Thomas Blair, age 58, a resident of Union Springs, passed away August 22, 2011. He was born August 31, 1952.
Thomas retired from the United States Navy after 20 years and was a member of the Navy Reserve. He was dedicated to his career as the Alabama Game & Fish Conservation Officer for Bullock County. He enjoyed NASCAR and Atlanta Braves Baseball and was a fan of the University of Alabama. Thomas was a loving father, son, brother and uncle. He is survived by wife, Brenda Brooks Blair; mother, Minnie Stallings Blair; children Eddie and Tim Blair of Alexander City and Courtney Blair of Birmingham; siblings Gene (Cindy) Blair of Alexander City, Jamie (Sharon) Blair of Alexander City, Rita (Johnny) Smith of Jackson Gap, David Blair of Alexander City, Boo (Michelle) Blair of Jackson Gap, and Susan (Jeff) Baker of LaGrange, GA; grandchildren, Joey Blair, Chris Blair, Logan Jones and Conner Jones; seven nieces, six nephews, and a very special extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, Ocie Buddy Blair and sister, Annette Blair.
Graveside funeral services will be Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Alexander City, AL. Visitation will be at the cemetery one hour prior to the funeral service.
