Sue Estes

Mrs. Sue Atkins Estes, age 85, of Eclectic, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 23, 2021. She was born April 19, 1935, in Elmore County, a daughter of the late Floy and Jewel Atkins.

Graveside service and burial will be Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at Good Hope Cemetery with Elder Mike McGrady officiating, Linville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Dixon Estes. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa; granddaughter, Allyson; brother, Ben; and sister, Judy.

She was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church and a homemaker. She loved music, enjoyed reading, baking, and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter. She will join her beloved husband in eternal rest. She will also be reunited with her son, Mark Charles Estes, who went to be with the Lord as an infant. Sue was wonderfully devoted to her daughter and was a loving grandmother. She spent over 30 years with the Forestry Association, finishing her career in 2000. In her retirement she spent time with her family and enjoyed gardening. There was never a moment of hesitation with her when it came to her helping her family. Sue was a kind, gentle and loving woman who will be missed every day by family and friends. Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Jackson Hospital who provided invaluable care to Sue for the last month.
