Roy Hammonds

Mr. Roy M. Hammonds, a resident of Tallassee, passed away December 19, 2011 at the age of 79. He was born May 8, 1932.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Elam Baptist Church with Minister Michael McElroy officiating. Interment will follow in Elam Baptist Church Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.

He is survived by sons, Steve Hammonds (Priscilla) and Phillip Hammonds (Stacey); sisters, Margaret Bunn, Mary Jo Davis (Chuck), Melissa Bowen (Mack) and Rebecca Peters (Tracey); brothers, David Hammonds and Tim Hammonds (Wanda); stepmother, Betty Hammonds; grandchildren, Mike Hammonds, Stephanie Weldon, Holly Jurkiewicze, Cory Hammonds, Morgan Hilyer and Maranda Thornton; and great-grandchildren, Madeline Weldon, Luke Weldon and Laci Hammonds.

He is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Hammonds; mother, Rosa Bedsole; wife, Virginia Hammonds; sister, Dorothy Conner and great-grandson, Landon Weldon.
