Rosaria Matney

Rosaria DePetro Matney, age 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2024. She was born in Catania, Sicily on February 25, 1949. Rose immigrated to the United States with her parents and two younger sisters at the age of sixteen. She later married her beloved husband, James "Jim" Matney, and they spent almost 50 years raising a family and serving the Lord together.

Rose was known for her warm and kind nature, always with a smile and an encouraging word. A passionate cook, she found joy in preparing meals (and then refusing to let anyone help clean up the dishes). Rose's faith was an integral part of her life and her life is a testament to loving God and others.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Matney. She leaves behind a loving family, including her sons Marc Ferrara and his wife TJ, Matt Matney and his wife Kaila; and her cherished grandchildren, Haley and Ransom Matney.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Ridge Church, 73932 Tallassee Hwy, Wetumpka, AL.
