Robert Dale Hill

Robert Dale Hill, 85, born in Ohio on October 2, 1938 passed away peacefully in his home on June 14, 2024.

Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley Ann Hill. He is survived by two sons, Edward Fillmore Hill (Tamra) and Phillip Hoyt Hill; one daughter, Shauna Lee Carlone (Rusty); one sister, Linda Abernathy; grandchildren, Adam Hill, Nicole Messer (Joey), Justin Justice; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law, John Parrish (Joan) and several close friends and family members, including those at Muddy Road Hunting Club.

Robert D. Hill known to some as R.D. faithfully served his country for 24 years in the United States Air Force. Focused on flying, he became a crew chief of helicopter squadrons. In pursuit of his military career, he served in Air Rescue, Special Ops, and recruiting to achieve the rank of Senior Master Sgt. During his career he served one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 3 to 5 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Committal service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 1:15 pm at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama.
