Mr. Robert “Pete” Butler, age 88, a resident of Tallassee, passed away June 1, 2012. He was born March 20, 1924. He attended Tallassee High School and served in the US Army during World War II.
Visitation is Monday, June 4, 2012 at Westside Baptist Church from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Dorley officiating. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda (Bobby) Smith of Auburn, AL and Lisa (Scott) Dunson of Tallassee, AL; grandchildren, Mona Hamilton, Kim (Jim) Thornton, Robert (Jennifer) Smith, Jessica (Woody) Fogleman, Marci Smith, Paige Dunson, Lindsey Smith, Kari (Jaiton) Stephens, Dave (Debra) Thornton, Charlie Thornton, and Jason (Christi) Thornton; great-grandchildren, Tim (Amber) Thornton, Cory Hamilton, Adrian (David) Massey, Leighton Hamilton, Shaun Moore Smith, Zadie Leigh Stephens, Caleb Thornton, Austin Thornton and Andrew Thornton; and great-great-grandaughter, Kimber Lynn Thornton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lynn Butler and daughter, Regeana Lynn (Jimmy) Thornton.
