Rickie Dawson Strength

Rickie Dawson Strength, 77, of Tallassee, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was born December 26, 1946 to the late Odis D. Strength and Mary Lou Peters Strength.

Visitation will begin at 1 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with funeral service following at 2 pm with Elder Joey Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Refuge Cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe "Biggon" Powell; grandson, Joshua Smith and brother-in-law, Monroe Powell, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Carolyn Powell Strength; daughter, Sonia Strength Taylor; granddaughter, Alex B. Smith; great-grandson, Corey Smith; brother, Buford (Beth) Strength; and sisters-in-law, Rita Baker and family, Rhonda Black and family and Sheila Dennis and family.

Rickie was a dedicated truck driver. He received several "Millions of Miles" Safety Awards during his 50 plus years of driving. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering with anything with a motor.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of love and sympathy may be contributions to Berean Baptist Church, 210 N. Ann St, Tallassee, AL 36078 or a charity of one's choice in memory of Rickie Strength.
