Randy Pitchford

Randy R. Pitchford, a longtime resident of the Red Hill community in Tallassee, Alabama passed away unexpectantly on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on November 21, 1951, he was the son of the late James O. Pitchford and Betty Jean Hudson Pitchford of Tallassee, Alabama.

Randy was dedicated and spent most of his career working at Sikorsky / GKN prior to retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and rarely missed an opportunity to bring a smile to others. He had one of the most contagious laughs and was a friend to all. Randy was a holder of many family titles including son, brother, nephew, cousin; however, the most endearing title would be uncle. He was known as "Uncle Randy" by so many nieces and nephews and each meant the world to him.

Randy is survived by his brother Albert Earl Pitchford and sister Alice Faye (Jerome) Gates; his nieces Ginny (Jonathan) Entwisle, Janna (Danny) Dunn, Celeste (Joseph) Brewer; nephews Jody (Tonya) Haggard, Justin (Karie) Pitchford, Eli Pitchford, and the uncle title was extended with several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his aunt Shirley Hudson Lett and Elaine Hudson (John) Jolly and numerous cousins and extended family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Naomi and Dennis Ledbetter.

The family will receive friends, Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Tew officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Watson Chapel Church Cemetery in Eclectic, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Brewer, Jody Haggard, Justin Pitchford, Matt Stringer, Tom Gates and Lee Gates. 

Flowers may be sent to Linville Memorial Funeral Home between 8:00 and 10:00 am, on the morning of the funeral service, January 13, 2025.
