Mr. Preston Ingram, 97, of Rushenville, passed away November 4, 2016. He was born June 2, 1919.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 7, at 2 pm, at Rushenville Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil “Topper” Reid officiating. Grandsons will serve as pall bearers. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1 pm.
He is survived by sons, Stanley (Sherri) Ingram and Michael (Sherry) Ingram; daughters, Charlotte (Keith) Peters, Kim (Terry) Sanders and Diane (Michael) Mann; brother, Billy Ray Ingram; sister, Mae Fulmer; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Rebecca L. Ingram; father, Audie B. Ingram; mother, Claudie Day Ingram; four brothers and two sisters.
He served in the Army in the 350 Infantry from March 1941 to October 1945. During that time he was the recipient of The Purple Heart. He had a long civil service career at Gunter AFS and retired as a foreman over base construction in 1985.
