Phillip Townsend Hudson

Phillip Townsend Hudson (Hud), 73, died peacefully on November 21, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Phil was born on April 27, 1949, in Tallassee, AL, and preceded in death by his brother, John Randall (Randy) Hudson and parents, John L. Hudson and Annie Ross Hudson of Tallassee.

Phil grew up in Carrville, AL and attended Tallassee High School where he was active in many sports including baseball and basketball.  He attended Central Alabama Community College where he played basketball.  He worked for Alabama Power Company more than 25 years..  He was an active member of East Tallassee Church of Christ for 57 years.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.  He was also a life-long Auburn fan.

Phil is survived by a loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Vicky Hudson; a daughter, Heather Hudson Wood and husband, Scott Wood of Reeltown, AL; grandchildren, Cade Wood, Reed Wood, and Drake Wood; son, Clay Hudson and wife, Nicole Hudson of Eclectic, AL; granddaughter, Alaina; grandson, Ashley Royal and wife Jannah Royal; great-granddaughter, Ava; sister, Polly Sue Rowlen and husband Jesse Rowlen; brother, Jesse Rowlen and sister-in-law, Julie Rowlen; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hudson’s celebration of life will be Monday, November 28, 2022.  Visitation will be at 1:00 pm with the service at 2:00 pm at East Tallassee Church of Christ with the graveside immediately following at Carrville Cemetery under the direction of Linville Memorial Funeral Home.
