Paul Reginald Anthony “Reggie” 83 of Tallassee, AL passed away on September 12, 2012.
Visitation will take place Thursday September 13 at Mt. Hebron Church of Christ in Eclectic, AL from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be Friday September 14 at 11:00 am at Tallassee Church of Christ with Minister Allen Ammons officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Anthony was born September 6, 1929 in Tallassee, AL. He was preceded in death by his mother Pauline Anthony. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Perry Anthony, one son Paul Anthony (Aleen), one daughter Beth Camp (Billy), granddaughters Madison Anthony Mallette (Brandon), Savannah Camp, Makenzie Anthony, Makaila Anthony and grandson Mason Camp. He took great joy and pride in being called granddaddy. All the grandchildren were adored and spoiled by him. His love, devotion and influence on them will be a treasure for them always.

In his early years he worked in the cotton mill in Tallassee. After graduating from Tallassee High School in 1948, he attended Montgomery Bible college which is now Faulkner University earning an Associates Degree. He then attended Auburn University earning a bachelors degree in Education and later a Masters and Double A degrees.

He was employed in the education field for almost 50 years. He began his teaching career at Reeltown High School in 1953. He then went to Wetumpka High School in 1954. After teaching for eleven and half years he journeyed to Elmore County High School as counselor. He ended his public education career serving as Principal at Elmore County High School. After retiring in 1985, he continued his career in education teaching at Alabama Christian Academy in January 1986. He later became counselor and principal before retiring again in 2002.

As he was working in the field of education, he also began serving as a part time minister with the Titus Church of Christ and later began preaching at Lightwood Church of Christ. He then took a part time preaching job at Mt. Hebron church of Christ near Eclectic, AL that lasted 38 years. While at Mt Hebron he also served as elder. Mr. Anthony had a passion for animals and especially his boxer Baby Doll. Both enjoyed eating ice cream on hot summer days. He cared for all the cats in the neighborhood.
