Pamela "Nanny" Gates

Pamela "Nanny" Gates, 63, of Eclectic, passed away November 14, 2023. She was born February 8, 1960.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Monday, November 20, 2023 at Linville Memorial Funeral Home.

She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Lee Evans; sisters, Samantha Evans and Nadia Hughes and husband, Terry Wayne Gates.

She is survived by her mother, Opal Aldridge; daughters, Belinda (Corey) Day and Amanda (Josh) Fomby; son, Terry Wayne (Kelley) Gates, Jr., sisters, Sheila Daniel, Starla (Jeff) Watkins, Wanda (LaDon) Cosby, Judy (Ken) Weed, Rhonda Whorton, Mary (David) Whitt and Lee (Katia) Evans; grandchildren, Karissa, Kylie, Kori, Alexis, Jessie, Natilee and Logan; great-grandchildren, Collen, Rylie, Adylyn, Madysyn and Hope; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her favorite pastime was sitting on her back porch with her mom  watching fish jump out of the pond, watching the hummingbirds eat and counting butterflies. She loved watching the kids play in the yard. She loved anything that involved her grandchildren. She was loved by so many and will be missed more than can be measured. She would always introduce herself to any kid as Nanny. She would say "just call me Nanny!"
