Norma Worthington Watkins

Norma Worthington Watkins, 81, of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away March 28, 2023, in her home in Kellyton, Alabama.

Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2023, at 11:00 am, with funeral service at 12:00 pm at First Assembly of God in Tallassee, Alabama, with Pastor Bobby Hornsby officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Eclectic, Alabama. The family will receive guests following services at First Assembly of God in Tallassee, Alabama.

Norma was born in Tallassee, Alabama, to Homer and Ida Worthington on August 3, 1941. She married James Melton Watkins on August 24, 1957 in Tallassee, Alabama. Norma is preceded in death by her husband; parents, Homer and Ida Worthington; sons, James Dino Watkins and Stephen Craig Watkins; and siblings, Farrell Worthington, Peggy Cousins, Mary Carlisle, Wayne Worthington, Martha Sellers and Roger Worthington.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Lahoma Joiner and Stacy Milliron (Rick); sister, Verla Norris; six grandchildren, James Watkins, Kayla Moseley (Daniel), Heather "Jade" Skinner (Cody), Austen Dawson, Molly Eason (Alex) and Jenny Joiner; and eight great-grandchildren, Liliana, Cayden, Braylee, Peyton, Hunter, Naomi, Dahlia and Skylar.

Pallbearers will be John Norris, Farron Worthington, Keith Norris, Ashley Royal, Alex Eason, Cody Skinner and Scottie Curry.

We thank all our family and friends for the calls, texts, visits, and especially your prayers. We are so appreciative of Brother Bobby and Mrs. Lisa for always checking on and visiting Mama. Y'all truly are the hands and feet of God and proof the Church is not just a building. We absolutely could not have made it without the amazing people of Enhabit Hospice, especially Jennifer and April, during this last week. Our family grew with the addition of Ms. Brenda Norris through this most challenging time. We appreciate Brenda for who she is, for always being here, and for loving our Mama.
