Mildred Pierce

Mrs. Mildred Duke Pierce, age 91, a resident of Tallassee, passed away July 6, 2011.She was born June 5, 1920.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:00 am at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Hill officiating. Burial in Friendship Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.

She is survived by daughters, Martha (Bob) Ward of Equality and Mary (Eddie) McGarr of Tallassee; grandchildren, Amanda Ward of Equality, Andy (Jennifer) Ward of Counce, TN, Justin (Jessca) McGarr of Tallassee, and Tiffany (Payton) Goodwin of Tallassee; stepgrandchildren, Mike (Diane) Ward of Dothan and Vicki (Dennis) Hawn of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; great-grandsons, Macon and Brody Goodwin; and brother, Johnnie Lee Duke of Tallassee.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Pierce and daughter, Ramona P. Jordan. Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Good Hope Baptist Church.
