Michael Ray Whaley

Michael Ray Whaley, 60, of Notasulga, passed away August 10, 2024. He was born January 14, 1964. He was raised alongside his brother, Cecil Whaley, in Montgomery, Alabama.

He grew to find his life's calling as a husband, father, grandfather and independent business owner to two successful companies, Michael's Transport Refrigeration and All About Towing.

He met his wife, Tina Whaley, as a teenager and they soon began a loving marriage spanning 45 years of utter and complete devotion to one another. Together they raised their three children with dutiful vigilance, compassionate understanding, and unwavering love and support.

A genuinely self-made man, Michael worked hard for his two family companies that he started from the ground up. He passed on work and life skills to his children and grandchildren along the way. His favorite activities consisted of fishing in his spare time, spending time with his family and traveling.

His passing is preceded by his father Hudie Whaley and his mother Mary Whaley and a host of family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Whaley; his three children, Angela Norsworthy (Whaley), Michael Anthony Whaley, and Christy Whaley; four grandsons, granddaughter, and great grandson, Chasen Fomby, Nelson Whaley, Anthony Whaley, Michael James Whaley, Chastity Norsworthy and Kylar Whaley; brother and sister in-law, Cecil and Patti Whaley and two nephews, Randy Whaley and Johnathan Whaley.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Michael Ray Whaley on Friday August 16, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Linville Memorial with Pastor Ruby Beck officiating.
