Mary Evelyn Hopper

Mary Evelyn Goodman Hopper, age 78, of Eclectic, Alabama passed away peacefully at her home December 1, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born July 1, 1946.

Visitation will begin at 11 am, Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 12 pm at Claud Cemetery with Bro. John Garrett officiating.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny Hopper, a daughter, Shannon Hopper, and her parents John L and Evelyn Goodman.

She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her always. Daughters Jeanine Pitchford (Wayne) and Paige Armstrong (Bill); her brother John Goodman (Debra); grandchildren Laken Hooper (Tyler), Daniel Armstrong, Loren Cole (Ben), Renee Strausbaugh (Micah), and Lori Armstrong; great grandchildren Miller and Michael Hooper and one on the way that is due in April.

Mary Evelyn worked for the State of Alabama for many years, which she later retired from. She treasured her grandchildren and loved to play games, put puzzles together with them and some of the fondest memories were taking them to the park and zoo. She loved her country music and had a passion for reading which included her favorite, the Harlequin romance novels. But most importantly, she loved her Lord and lived a life that demonstrated a Proverbs 31 woman.
