Martha Jean Martin (Rider)

Martha J. Martin, 72, of Tallassee, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2019. She was born February 16, 1947 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

She loved the outdoors and her animals, especially Riley. She was an avid gardener and a talented artist and floral designer. She enjoyed cooking for her family, camping, fishing and deer hunting. She spent many hours researching family history and it gave her great joy to find her nephew, Rick Rider-Gray.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald L. Martin of Tallassee; her children, Tiffany Bonham of Fort Worth, TX, Kimberly Young of Blue Ridge, TX and Joseph Drozal III of Benton, AR; and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

As per her wishes, there will not be a service. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date. Her remains will be buried, along with those of her beloved dog, Riley, with the planting of a tree on Kim’s property. Her desire was “to be a tree, so my grandchildren and great grandchildren can visit me and play around me.”
