Margaret Mildred Grizzard

Margaret Mildred Grizzard, a resident of Reeltown, AL passed away on July 28, 2023. She was born February 24, 1934, in Hightower, AL.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 31, 2023, beginning at 9 am, followed by a funeral service at 10 am at First Baptist Church of Reeltown with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in First Baptist Church of Reeltown Cemetery.

Left to mourn her loss and celebrate her life are her four children, Deborah Griffin, Pamela Standifer (Larry), Patti Stallions (Charles), and Mark Grizzard (Michelle); beloved grandchildren, John Griffin III (Rachel), Jamey Griffin (Sherry), Kelley Rollins (Eric), Michael Griffin (Ashley), Bryan Nelson, Rachel Stallions (Jeffrey), Rianna Stallions (Tim Hamilton), Rebekah Stallions, Paige Davis, Heather Grizzard, Keller Grizzard (Bailey) and Bailey Martin; 16 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Mrs. Grizzard also had a very dear friend and partner in crime, Carol Houston, from Monarch Estates in Auburn, AL.

Mrs. Grizzard is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Thomas Grizzard; parents, Earl and Lela Lindsey; brothers, Wallace Lindsey, Wendell Lindsey; and sisters, Sue Matthews, Gail Deese, and Christi Hendricks.

Mrs. Grizzard was the family matriarch and was happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends. She always made sure that anyone who visited her home would never leave hungry. She was a great cook and hosted family gatherings often. Mrs. Grizzard will always be remembered for her fierce love for her family, her friends, and her church.

A very special thank you to Chapman's Nursing Home and Southern Care Hospice, both located in Alexander City, AL. The team took excellent care of Mrs. Grizzard during her illness.
