Ms. Lois Ann Girdner, 74, of Eclectic, passed away September 3, 2014. She was born June 9, 1940.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 6 from 2:00-3:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm, at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Rackliffe officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by her children, Michael Starke Trotter, Carolyn Ann Trotter and Jim Girdner; sisters, Ginger Shores Knight and Bonna Swicord; grandchildren, Jody Lynn Girdner and Michelle Denise Trotter; uncle, Ewell Holley and aunt, Margaret Thornton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carlton Atkins and Edith Shores; a son, Jody Girdner; and an aunt, Laura Evelyn Colley.
Lois Ann was a former Dixie Darling with the University of Southern Mississippi. She taught dance classes to children and many years ago, she managed the Kountry Kitchen in Eclectic. She retired from the State of Alabama as a corrections officer. She attended Grace Point Community Church.
