Larry Benjamin Partain

November 21, 1940 — September 24, 2022

Larry Benjamin Partain, 81, of Tallassee, passed away on September 24, 2022. He was born and raised in Tallassee. He was the youngest of five children. He married Debbie Jean Bush on November 5, 1964 and they were together until his passing. They had one son Larry Steven Partain of Tallassee.

Larry loved his family and friends. He was fiercely devoted to his wife, son, family and friends. He didn't talk about his feelings but you never had to doubt he loved you. He spent time working on various "hot rods" over the years with his favorite one being his Midnight Blue 1965 Chevy Malibu Super Sport and his final one a gunmetal grey 2016 Dodge Challenger. He had a vast knowledge of movies and tv shows, westerns being his favorites. He loved his cars and animals, too. He did not like to see a stray cat or dog go hungry.

He worked most of his adult life at Mount Vernon Mills in Tallassee where he met his wife Debbie and it was love at first sight.

Larry is survived by his wife Debbie, son Steve, brother-in-law Paul Bush, niece Julia Bush Nelson and numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by siblings Claudie Lou Cantrell, Jesse Floyd Partain, Hattie Armel Tidwell and Sylvia Wayne Daniel.

A graveside service will be held on September 29, 2022 at Carrville Cemetery at 10 am for all who wish to attend.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in his name to Humane Society of Elmore County, 255 Central Park Road, Wetumpka Alabama 36092 or at www.elmorehumane.org.
