Kevin Butler

Kevin David Butler, 62, of Tallassee, passed away April 20, 2024. He was born March 2, 1962, the youngest son of Jessie David Butler and Martha R. Thornell.

Kevin is preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Johnny and Flora Butler; and maternal grandparents, Elvin and Winifred Rutledge.

He is survived by his mother; sons, Justin (Jamie) Butler and Jonathan (Cassie) Butler; grandchildren, Bailey Nichols (Zach), Britney, Blaire and Aidan Butler, Anna Garnett, Nathan and Natalie Butler, as well as nephew, Kyle Butler (Nicole); nieces, Jessica Hammonds (Corbin), Kelsey Segrest (Forrest); great nieces, Ivry Hammonds and on the way, Amelia Segrest; and great nephew, Ivan Hammonds.

Kevin was a life-long resident of the Friendship community, a mechanic by trade and a loving father, brother and friend.

Kevin did not participate in social media, texting, smart phones or even conversation at times, but unwittingly influenced hundreds of lives for the good.

Kevin peacefully passed away Saturday morning surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral services are to be at First Baptist Church Tallassee, Wednesday, April 24. Visitation 11:00 service 12:00. Bro. Jay Woodall officiating. Burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery.
