Judith Strickland Gilbert

Mrs. Judith Strickland Gilbert, age 75, of Wetumpka, Alabama, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at her home in Wetumpka, Alabama. She was born July 14, 1949.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service and burial will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 12:30 PM at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama, with Rev. W. Kent Dendy officiating.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Colin D. Gilbert; her father, Raymond Vickers Strickland; mother, Frances Bond Strickland; and her sister, Vickie Herndon.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana Dendy (Marc), and grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan Dendy, of Wetumpka, Alabama; her son, Lee Parrish, and grandchildren, Julian and Nalu Parrish, of Hilo, Hawaii, and many other loving family members and friends.

She was born in Columbus, Georgia and spent her younger years living with her family in Georgia and Tennessee. Her family eventually moved near Abbeville, Alabama, in the Wills Crossroads Community, where she attended and graduated from Abbeville High School. She attended George Wallace Community College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Education from the University of West Florida. Judy retired as Human Resources Director of Bluewater Bay Resort in Niceville, Florida, where she worked for almost twenty-five years. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her.
