Mr. John Michael “Mike” Woodall, 79, of Tallassee, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his home in Red Hill. He was born May 16, 1936.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 29 at 3 pm at Bethlehem East Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Carmack, Rev. Faron Golden and Rev. Rick Barnhart officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until service time at Bethlehem East Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Woodall; sons, Timothy Michael Woodall and Michael Douglas Butler; daughters, Lori Michelle Woodall and Deana Ellen Gray; son-in-law, Dan Gray; daughter-in-law, April Lynn Loveday; and grandchildren, Kayla Treat, Kasey Treat, JeNa Williams, Wiatt Holt Watson, Austin Daniel Gray and Seth and Mia Loveday.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Rex Woodall; mother, Nora Gertrude Wadsworth Woodall; son, Stephen Floyd Woodall and brother, Robert Harold Woodall.
Mike was responsible for the startup of the Recreation Department for the City of Tallassee where he worked for a number of years. He also worked for the Central Alabama Aging Consortium and in recent years, was the director of the City of Tallassee Senior Center. He was a member of Bethlehem East Baptist Church and a member of the Silver Hair Legislature.
