John Lock

Mr. John Edward Lock passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the age of 79. He was born January 21, 1932.

John served his country in the Korean War and had a life-long career with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 443.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Good Hope Baptist Church, Eclectic, AL with Rev. Kenny Hill and Rev. Jeff Fray officiating.The grandchildren will serve as pall bearers.Burial will follow in Chana Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.

He was a devoted husband of 53 years, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Fay Caldwell Lock; sons, John Randall (Janice) Lock, Wendell (Jan) Lock and Kendell (Terry) Lock; daughter, Ramona (Jeff) Fray; ten grandchildren, Corey Lock (fiance Katie Cooley), Holley (Andy) Vallee, Matthew Lock, Jesse Lock, Joshua Lock, Julie Lock, Christy Lock, Brandon (Kahla) Fray, Courtney Fray and Amanda (DJ) Richards; step-grandchildren, Zachary (Melissa) Slatton and Derek Slatton; great-grandchildren, Neal and Mayson-Layne Richards; sisters, Mary (Al) Ikard and Mavis Johnston of Swartz Creek, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtle Lock; sister, Catherine; and brother, Virgil (Barbara) Lock.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of one's choice.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Good Hope Baptist Church.
