Jewel Rutland

Mrs. Jewel Thornton Rutland, age 80, a resident of Montgomery and formerly from Tallassee, died Monday, December 20, 2010.She was born September 18, 1930.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at East Tallassee Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Woodall officiating.Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.

She is survived by son, Joe Causey (Rose) of Birmingham; daughter, Brenda Adair of Montgomery; brother, James A. Thornton (Lillie); sister, Sylvia Coats (Jack); brother-in-law, Bobby Willis; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, K. C. Rutland; daughter, Rita Sandifer; sister, Grace Willis and granddaughter, Angie Truitt.
