James Strickland

James Ronald Strickland, age 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 27, 2022. He was born September 8, 1946.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Sue Strickland; three children, Renee Sanders (Marshall), Denise Strickland (Greg Lurwig), and David Strickland; four grandchildren, Tyler Sanders (Cassie), Catie Sanders, Elizabeth Sanders, and Logan Strickland; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Strickland. He was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Lorene.

Born and raised in Eclectic, Alabama, Ronald graduated from Elmore County High School, and completed his bachelor's degree from Troy State University and later his master's from Auburn University. Ronald spent the past 41 years residing in Eclectic, Alabama with his loving wife of 56 years, Sue. Ronald loved Nascar and deep sea fishing, but he was happiest while working his farm, taking care of his cattle. Ronald will be best remembered for his quick wit, funny sense of humor, and generous soul.

A memorial service will be held at Linville Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 2 pm, with visitation starting at 1 pm.
