James Ray "Pete" Paige

James Ray "Pete" Paige, 82, of Eclectic, Alabama, passed away February 22, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born December 11, 1941.

Pete spent his life working in construction. He built numerous homes and businesses during his career. He had a strong passion for horses and rodeo. In his younger days, he and his horse Khaki won several trophies. Pete was a proud father of Suzanne and Keith. His proudest moment was becoming a grandpa to Brandon and Chandler. He loved talking about his grandsons and watching them succeed at school and in sports. Being a grandpa was what he loved most.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents, John William Paige and Bessie Kaehey Paige; brother, Porter Paige; sister, Frances Luneal Tamez; and sister, Betty Jo Hales.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Paige Porter (Guy); son, Keith Paige (Tami); grandsons, Brandon Bice and Chandler Bice; bonus granddaughters, Jacey Porter and Julia Porter; brother, Ralph Edward Page; nieces, Linda Steele (Danny), Bessie Page and Yvonne Waites. Survivors also include several great nieces and nephews and his horses, Badger and Zippi.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Pastor George Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mason Prestage, Braden Alford, Austin Bice and Andra Johnston. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Edward Page, Brandon Bice, Chandler Bice and Wayne Walls.
