Mr. James Britt, 70, of Eclectic, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013. He was born December 22, 1942.
Visitation will be Monday, November 18 from 12 noon until 2 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Daniel Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.
He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Wylodene Britt; sisters, Peggy Cochran and Martha Vuys; stepsons, Barry Foshee, Andrew Foshee and Brett Foshee; six grandchildren; three nephews and four nieces.
Mr. Britt served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964 during the Vietnam War. He was employed with Alabama Power and retired after many years of service. He was known as a gentle giant by his friends because he was a man of his word and honest in all his dealings. His hobbies were motorcycle riding and working in his shop on “old” cars.
