Gary Roye Moore

Gary Roye Moore, 73, of Tallassee, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023. He was born October 15, 1950.

Visitation with the family will begin at 1 pm, Friday, January 5, 2024, with the funeral service to follow at 2 pm at East Tallassee Church of Christ. Minister Mike McElroy will officiate the service. Graveside service will follow in Carrville Cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Truman Moore and Betty Roye Moore. He leaves behind his wife, Louann Davis Moore; his children, Tara Hendrix (Robby) and Justin Moore (Ashly); grandchildren, Noah, Nic and Nate Hendrix, Hardy Moore, and Mackenzie Harrison; sisters, Amy Moore Carr and Julie Moore Stearns and many more family and friends.

Gary graduated from Tallassee High School in 1969. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in business from Auburn University in Montgomery. He was a long-time employee at Neptune Water Meter Company for over 50 years and dearly loved his job and coworkers. He was a city councilman for over 20 years. He served as a deacon, elder and song leader at East Tallassee Church of Christ. His hobbies were singing, hanging out with his grandchildren, watching Auburn football, socializing and going to Walmart and Super Foods. He also adored his fur babies, Apollo (shih tzu) and Smokey (cat).
