Mrs. Dorris Lanier Nichols, age 84, a resident of Montgomery, passed away August 1, 2012. She was born September 24, 1927.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at
4:00 pm from the Chapel at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Lanier and Dr. Rick Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Bullard Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by daughters, Pam Nichols Graham (Johnny) and Suzanne Nichols Joubert (Joe); sister, Billie Lanier Cannon; grandchildren, Joshua Graham (Stephanie), Caleb A. Graham, Joely Stewart (Joe), Jason McLain and Daniel Bonner; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Stewart, Lanier Stewart, Macey Stewart, Jody Girdner, Ashley McLain, Hannah McLain, Tiffany Burton, Magan Burton, Chasen Graham and Chloe Graham; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Leonard Nichols. Dorris was a loving, giving and humble mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her simplistic ways and a graceful demeanor. She taught that family was important and was a best friend to everyone who knew her. She was always willing to help someone in need. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
