Mrs. Dorothy Louise Phillips, 92, of Opelika, passed away January 21, 2015. She was born December 24, 1922 in Tallapoosa County to Jonah Swanson Peoples and Louella Florence Causey Peoples. She lived most of her life in East Tallassee, Alabama, except for several years she and her husband, Robert E. Phillips Sr., lived in Montgomery. After the death of Robert she moved to Auburn to be closer to family.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Robert E. Phillips Sr.; two daughters, Denise Mote and Beverly Knighten; three grandchildren, Mike Phillips, Ronnie and Randal Duck and nine siblings.
She is survived by her son, Robert “Bobby” (Jackie) Phillips; two daughters, Betty (Jimmy) Weldon and Jackie (Wayne) Henderson; eight grandchildren, Jim Weldon, Scott Phillips, Amy Watson, Jeremy Henderson, Robbie Henderson, Julie Maynard, Brittany Gardner and Carrie Lucas; seventeen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 24 from 10:00 to 11:00 am , followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am, from the Chapel at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Newman officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.
