Dennis E. "Denny" Shafley

Dennis E. "Denny" Shafley, 77, of Saginaw, Michigan went to be with his Lord on June 8, 2024, in Tallassee, Alabama. He was surrounded by his loving family and passed away peacefully in his home. 

Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army, completing 2 tours of duty in Vietnam and Thailand as a motor transportation operator. He was honorably discharged as a specialist five.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda McLeary Shafley; His two daughters, Cheryl (Tim) Melton, Denise (Dennis Bergin) Shafley; Grandchildren Blake (Mckenzie) Reed, Travis (Blythe) Reed, Chase (Jessica) Reed, Courtney (Jacob) McLing, Hannah (Dylan) Meek, TJ (Taylor) Melton, Dalton Melton, Erin Melton, Christopher (Claudia) Bergin, Melissa Bergin; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Leta Shafley, and brothers Jack and Arthur Shafley.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date to honor and remember Dennis.
