Mr. Curtis “Bill” Purcell, 71, of Tallassee, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015. He was born May 8, 1943.
Visitation will be Friday, March 27, from 6 to 8 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends on Saturday one hour before the funeral service at 2 pm at Providence Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Marvin Paulk and Elder Mickey Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janie Purcell; children, Jeffery Purcell (Tonya), Michael Purcell (Amy), Tommy Clark Jr. and Greg Clark (Rebecca); sister, Marlene Davis; twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister, Ann Milner; mother, Elloise Purcell and father, Morris Purcell.
Bill served in the U. S. Army National Guard. He worked in maintenance for Neptune for over 32 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry work. He served faithfully with the Youth Camp at Providence Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a member.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the Youth Camp Fund at Providence Primitive Baptist Church.
