Clarence Truman Moore

Mr. Clarence Truman Moore, age 87, passed away December 21, 2011. He was born June 3, 1924.

Funeral service will be Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11:00 am at East Tallassee Church of Christ with Minister Mike McElroy officiating. Burial in Carrville Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.

He is survived by son, Gary Moore (Louann); daughters, Amy Carr (Bill) and Julie Stearns (Larry); brother, Kermit Moore; grandchildren, Brett Carr Pierce (Michael), Dylan Carr, Tara Hendrix (Robby), Justin Moore (Ashly), Shannon Stearns, Rhiannon Stearns, and Laken Stearns; great-grandchildren, Logan Pierce, Amy Laurel Pierce, Marissa Carr, Noah Hendrix, Nic Hendrix, Nate Hendrix and Hardy Moore. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Roye Moore.

Mr. Moore was born and reared in Tallassee. He served our country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was an active member of the local Civitan Club and East Tallassee Church of Christ. He retired from Auburn University after 25 years as Manager of the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed sharing vacations with his family and grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at East Tallassee Church of Christ.
