Clarence Harold "Hap" Akins

Clarence Harold "Hap" Akins, age 94, of Deatsville, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, and was reunited with his late wife, Joy Fay Akins. He is preceded in death by his sisters Sybil Horn, Virginia Jinx, Eloise Caraccioli, Geraldine Maddeloni, and three of his beloved children, Mike Akins, Lindsay Akins, and Sharon Eiseman.

He is survived by his siblings Sarah Alderson (Dave), Rex Akins (Ellen Dawkins), four sons, Pat Akins (Della), Paul Akins (Shelly), John Akins (Diane), Sid Akins (Diane), and his 27 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Monday, September 30, 2024 at 12 PM at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service and burial will be Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 2 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama.

He served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years as a Firefighter and served during multiple wars. After retiring from the USAF, he continued his career as a firefighter for 22 years at Lockheed Martin.

He was a deeply religious man and dedicated to his family. May God rest his soul.
