Mr. Charles T. Whitehead, Jr., 77, of Wetumpka, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013. He was born October 25, 1936 in Guntersville, AL.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 2 from 6 to 8 pm at Linville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 3 at 2 pm at Claud Independent Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Gore and Rev. Mike Weldon officiating. Burial will follow at Pine View Memorial Gardens with full military honors, Linville Memorial Funeral Home directing.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rebecca Whitehead; children, Mary Tresea (Eddie) Durden, Sheila Darlene (Fred) Medley and Patricia Elizabeth (Randy) Stephens; sisters, Billie Joyce Swords, Martha Smith, Dorothy (Robert) LeMaster, Patsy (Ed) Grannon and Dale Whitehead; brother-in-law, Wallace (Dianna) Cook; sister-in-law, Vera (John) Ramsay; grandchildren, Aleshia Armendarez, Glynn Stephens, Aaron Medley and Brandon Durden, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Willie Mae and Tonnie Whitehead and sister, Betty Morton.
He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years and was employed with the City of Montgomery, retiring with 21 years of service. He was a member of Santuck Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and deer hunting.
