Charles H. Wallace

Charles H. Wallace of Eclectic passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on Friday, October 20, 2023 surrounded by his family.

 

Visitation will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church, 1766 South Fleahop Road, Eclectic, with a graveside service following at 1:30 pm at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, 64 North Ann Street, Eclectic. Pallbearers will be Jim Davis, Harrell Fulmer, Wes Fulmer, Tony McGhee, Terry Nicholas and Allen Plott.  Rev. Kenny Hill will be officiating with special music by Mack Daugherty.

 

Charles was born on January 25, 1938 in Fleahop, Alabama and lived his entire life in Eclectic.  He was a 1956 graduate of Elmore County High School and was a lifetime supporter of Panther football.  He retired from the Department of Defense after 40 years of service.

 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay Farrow Wallace; children Farrow Wallace Burks (Bo) and Rodney Clyde Wallace (Kelley); he was "Papa" to 4 granddaughters: Mary Grace Burks Jones (Ben), Sophie Wallace Burks, Kayson Farrow Wallace Freeman (Cam), and Katie Marie Wallace.  He was excited to know that his first great-granddaughter, Charlie, would be born in February.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Grace Wallace.

 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be memorial contributions in his memory to Good Hope Baptist Church or Children's Harbor.
