Allison "Hugh" Holley, 77, of Eclectic, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. Born on August 25, 1947, in Montgomery, Hugh lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and service.
Hugh proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His dedication to duty and courage exemplified his steadfast character. After his military service, Hugh continued to serve others through his commitment to his church and family. A devoted member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Eclectic, Hugh found great joy in his faith and in serving others. His church was a place of great support, fellowship, and blessing in his life. Hugh's love for his granddaughters was boundless; he cherished every moment spent with Emma Kate, Taylor, Allison, and Claire. His family was the cornerstone of his life.
Hugh is survived by his son John and his wife Robin, along with their daughters Emma Kate and Taylor, and by his daughter Emily and her husband Chad, along with their daughters Allison and Claire. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Martha Ann. Hugh is also survived by brothers-in-law, Tony McGhee (Libbye), Jim Davis and sister-in-law Tommie Butterworth along a host of nephews, cousins, and friends that he cherished dearly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church Eclectic. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
