Sherry Griffith Linville was born in Montgomery, Alabama and reared in Tallassee and Eclectic.  She is a graduate of Elmore County High School.  She is the daughter of Leona Wood Osborne, a Tallassee resident, and the late Edward Eugene Wood.  She is married to Brad Linville.  Sherry has a son, Trent Griffith; stepchildren, Stuart Linville and Hannah Linville; and four sisters, Pam Gray, Debra Wood Harris, Linda Caudle and Patty Morse.  Sherry was a substitute teacher with the Tallassee School System for many years.  She loves to spend time with her husband, her dog (Shadow) and her family.  She enjoys meeting and helping each family.  Sherry can be reached by email at

Madonna Dismore Linville is a licensed Funeral Director in the state of Alabama and also a Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC).  She was born and reared in Lafayette, Indiana and earned a degree from Purdue University (B.S.) in 1977.  She is married to Ron "RC" Linville and they are the parents of Brad Linville and Mary May.  After working in several positions at Quantegy/Ampex Recording Media in Opelika, she retired as Manager of Marketing and Sales Services after 22 years of employment.  Besides her love for genealogy, she is dedicated to helping others and her expertise in funeral pre-planning will help you pay tribute to the memory of your loved one.  Madonna has earned her CPC (Certified Preplanning Consultant) and holds an insurance license with a line of authority in life and final expense insurance.  Madonna can be reached by email at

Bill Goss is a retired educator, author, historian, genealogist, and a Tallassee native.  He was born and reared in East Tallassee and graduated from Tallassee High School in 1948.  He earned degrees from Troy University (B.S.) in 1951 and Auburn University (M.Ed.) in 1958.  For 38 years, he was a high school teacher of history, social studies, journalism, English, and principal/school administrator.  Bill served in the U.S. Air Force, as a S/Sgt, for four years (1951-1955), during the Korean War.  He has lived and worked in Alabama, Texas, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Morocco, Florida, Germany, Turkey, and Georgia.  Bill returned to Tallassee in December 1995, after a 45 year absence.  Since returning to Tallassee, Bill worked part-time at the Hotel Talisi and has been a funeral home assistant for the past ten years.  Currently, he is the historian of the Talisi Historical Preservation Society, and past commander of Tallassee Post 118, American Legion.  Bill has a weekly live radio program, "The History of Tallassee," on WTLS, on Wednesday mornings.  In 2008, he co-authored the book, "Images of America:  Tallassee," published by Arcadia Publishing, Charleston, SC.  Bill can be reached by email at

Charles Turner, Assistant

Charles Turner is a native of Tallassee and graduated from Tallassee High School in 1983.  He is the son of D. L. and the late Josie Turner and is married to Kay Curry Turner.  They have two sons, Nicholas Turner and Charlie Turner.  He graduated from the Alabama Correctional Academy in 1986 and was employed with the Department of Corrections for over 25 years before he retired.  He enjoys spending time with his family and church activities.
