Rodger Howard Moore
Rodger Howard Moore, age 75, died peacefully at his home in Eclectic, AL on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Born January 8, 1943, in Ft Benning, GA to Elainor Lanell and Arnold Overton Moore, Rodger was a graduate of Elmore County High School and the University of Alabama and received his Masters from Troy University. Rodger was a retired Probation and Parole Officer from the State of Alabama and a retired business owner of Lake Martin Mini Mall. Rodger was an active member of the Family Worship Center in Alex City, AL.
Rodger is preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Overton Moore. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Graham Moore; son, Rodger (Kathy) Moore; son, John Derrik Moore; daughter, Kelley (Paul) Hancock; daughter, Leslie Adams; nine grandchildren, Melissa (Alex) Miller, Michael Moore, Jonathan and Emily Hancock, Brady and Mason Moore, Tyler and Clayton Black, Kaycee Lou Jackson; one great grandson, Tate Black; sisters, Joan Coram and Patricia Gregory. Visitation will be held at Linville Memorial Funeral Home, Eclectic, AL on Friday, January 12 from 5-7 pm. Service will be at 10 am on Saturday, January 13, also at Linville Memorial Funeral Home with burial service following at Union Methodist Church Cemetery in Eclectic.
Pallbearers will be Alex Miller, Michael Moore, Tyler Black, Clayton Black, Jonathan Hancock, Brady Moore, Mason Moore, Tommy Coram and Craig Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be James Pike, Bob Daniel, Chad Miller, Scott Lett, Hal Lowman and Barry Mask. Officiating Pastor Tony Harris and Bro. Phillip Gipson; singers Zach Channell and Renee Wills, all from Family Worship Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that monetary donations be made to the Family Worship Center in memory of Rodger Moore. Address is PO Box 1947, Alexander City, AL 35011. The family would like to thank Baptist Hospice for their help and support and a very special thank you to Hospice Nurse, Allyson Tatum.
